Gag order
gagging/gag order
an official order not to discuss something, especially a legal case.
Examples:
1. A lawmaker doubted the need for a gag order as given by the court to prevent the media from revealing the identity of Mr X as he was not underaged or a victim of a sexual assault.
2. The judge issued a gagging order to prevent the witnesses from speaking to the press.
