This is my first blog.
Today I received a gift from my son - it's a tie of HKU. I love it and will wear it next time on TV.
Under Ceci's leadership, all the things were moved out from Shining House successfully. The flat is now ready for refurbishment which will start tomorrow.
We visited Dr. Chow this afternoon. After the ultrasound scanning, he re-confirmed that our baby is a boy! Cecilia asked me to give an English name to our baby boy......um......let me "think think".
Lie with
acclimatize (US ALSO acclimate)
Today, Ceci, her parents and I went to a decoration company to discuss the refurbishment of Shining House. During the discussion, my wife showed her EO competence:
I was on the plane from US back to HK today. I left LA on Saturday night and would arrive at HK on Monday morning. Therefore, I spent the whole Sunday on the plane. In fact, is there a whole day? I "earned" about 1 day when I traveled from HK to US, however, I "lost" the time when I returned from US to HK ------ the time zone problem.
This is the last day in San Diego. I myself bought a one-day pass for trolley and bus and visited the downtown of San Diego and the famous Pacific Beach. Since the officer of FSD told me that the security check at airports would take a very long time (to prevent terrorists from bringing explosive on board), I finished the trip very early and rushed to the San Diego airport. Luckily, I was allowed to take an earlier flight so I arrived at LA airport at about 6 hours before the scheduled departure time. To make use of every minute, I took a shuttle bus to Union Station (a railway station) and explored the nearby Olvera Street, which is a historic street with restaurants and gift shops selling Mexican food and merchandise.
All the participants had dinner at a park nearby. Not much food but the scene was very good, especially during sunset. There were also bands singing and people, after drinking beer, were "high" and danced! Of course, I did not do so.......I went back to the hotel early and slept!
In the exhibition, many exhibitors gave away souvenirs to promote their company and products. Among all of them, a company which sells GPS hand-held machine got a very smart idea. It dispatched badges to the visitors, and on each badge there was a number printed on it (Of course, also with their brand name). A same number was printed on TWO badges which were dispatched randomly to different persons. The company promised that if you could find the person wearing the badge with the number same as yours, both of you could get the GPS machine free (each cost more than HK$1000 I think). As such, many people wore the badge in order to be easily found by his "twin"........and helped the company to promote their brand name! What a smart idea! The company even hired two twin sisters to dispatch the badges!
The story did not finish yet...........in the convention center, there was a message board for people to post their messages such as job offer, CV....... now people start to post their badge number and mobile phone number and hope that his "twin" can see the message and call him, so that both of them can get the free GPS machine! What a funny phenomenon!!!
It's the second day of the conference. Attended some individual sessions, most of which are related to weather. Not very useful because each session lasted for only 30 to 45 minutes and the speaker could not discuss the topics in depth. Another reason was that I always fell asleep during the talk.....haaaaa....my fault. The last reason was that I could not listen to every word of the speakers. They talked too fast!!!.......seems that I have to brush up my English listening skills.

I arrived at San Diego on Sunday afternoon (already Monday in Hong Kong Time). Although there was chao in HK airport days before, my flight to the US and the connecting domestic flight were smooth. The hotel I lived was Manchester Grand Hyatt. It is really very "grand", and very expensive too. Even if I made a call to a toll-free number, the hotel would charge me US$1 ! After registrating at the convention center, I got a tote bag containing a lot of information about the conference.
